My firewall is blocking this widget from loading inline. When not set inline it loads but not correctly. When I can turn off the firewall it will load inline, but I don't want to have it off. I am using Norton 360 Suite and I don't see a way to set this widget to a trusted list. Can someone help me with this problem. Thanks.

Note : you'll have to remove the existing module, and add it as an uwa module (add content/essential/modules/page2/UWA module), click edit and past the widget url http://kyrlian.googlepages.com/nvm_cartoons.htm, tick inlined and add. @Manny&Maggie: Now works in IE6! Regards, k.

Hi, just modified this widget to be ginger/uwa compliant. Previous version is still available as nvm_cartoons_legacy.htm Maybe this one will work on IE :) THIS WIDGET MUST BE INLINE TO SEE THE IMAGES PROPERLY.

really looked forward to be able to read the Daily Comics but it just wont work on IE...HOPE YOU CAN FIX THE PROBLEM

Works fine. Fox Trot is still broken, all others are fine. @charlie : my module doenst support those, but see philhans' at http://philhans.awardspace.com/ it's fare better than mine :)

I can't get either one to work. The original URL just displays the comics names and nothing else happens. The philhans one has an XML error

Nice work, philhans! I was expecting to just use yours as a temporary replacement. But I like the customization and selection much more. I'm sticking with yours. Why don't you add it to the modules section by itself?

The webpage the Krylian's module uses to get the comic information from has changed it's layout, so for the time being it won't display anything. If you want to view the comics you can use the module I have written which is located at http://www.et.byu.edu/~philhans/netvibes/comics.php

When using Firefox 1.5.07, I cannot get the cartoon to scroll to the right. It just snaps back to the left.

The website both our modules parse to get most of the comics has gone done. I have been planning to add the logic directly into my module so that it will work again, I have just been busy since school started. In the meantime, Calvin and Hobbes and the 3 online comics still work.

I can confirm the fact that it's not loading anymore. I see the same thing as Groovymarlin does. It says "Loading" or "Fetching" but the list never shows.

In case anyone is interested, I have also added a few of the online comics such as PVPOnline, Ctrl-alt-del, and PennyArcade to my version. I also added Calvin and Hobbes

I modified the version I have created to scale the image to the browser if it is too big. You can also click on the comic name to open a new window with the full-size image.

on days like sunday... where the comic is large... i can't see the whole comic on my screen... is there any way to fix that?

I wanted to be able to only show the comics that I was interested in, so I went ahead and made some modifications so that you can configure this module. If anyone is interested in trying it out it's at http://www.et.byu.edu/~philhans/netvibes/comics.php

This module is really cool, would be cool if front pages of major news papers could pop-up like that. Nice selection of comics, you got just about all my favorites. No Mark Trail? just Kidding but Lil' Abner would be cool, but I don't htink that it's still in print.

It is really nice to check the new cartoons evry morning. But the selection of cartoons is not very good. Can you include "Penny arcade"? It is the best comic strip ever. Very good module, thanks.

Hi I'm using Opera v 8.53, and I tried to used this module. My problem is that I only getting an error message and my browser closes. Thus I cant use my netvibes site anymore, because when I'm trying to login my browser crashes and closes. So I cant remove it eitgher.. Gah..
